We have been talking up "the big girl" bed for a few weeks to Kylie in hopes of getting her settled into it before the baby arrives. Yesterday was the BIG day! We headed over to Costco and loaded up a twin bed and frame onto our cart and made it sound super exciting along the way. We let her have one last nap in her crib and I have to admit it was a little sad to think she was getting big enough to leave her crib behind! :( She helped put the bed together with Jared and immediately wanted to "bounce" (her favorite word) on the bed. She was very excited about her owl blanket and pillow and helped make her new bed. The real test of course came when it was time to turn off the lights. I had mentally prepared myself for the worst and had peptalked myself into being strong and consistent with putting her right back into the bed if need be. We said our goodnights and turned off the lights and she did cry for about 30 seconds and then all was quiet. She slept the whole night without a peep in the bed and so far tonight she ahs been quiet from the get go! I hope she is taking to the new bed like a fish to water and continues on this path!

Aw.....she's a big girl now (although I still call mackenzie my baby girl and she is 8)haha
